Frak Yeah!

I am not afraid to admit I am a geek. I've mentioned it here before, and I will assuredly mention it again. You have officially been warned.

For those of you who are enlightened enough to know what my title references, I applaud you. For those who don't, let me first pass along my condolences. Now that that is out of the way, lets get to the issue at hand. Battlestar Galactica is one of the best shows on television, and if you are not a fan, you are missing out big time!

To clarify, I am not referring to the Battlestar Galactica with the toaster-looking Cylons from the 197o's. No, I am referring to the new series that is about to begin it's fourth and final (sniff) season on the Sci Fi channel.

Now I know some of you who don't understand are probably mocking me right now. Why, you might ask, would they remake a cheesy show from the 70's? It took a few friends of mine a few months to talk me into giving the show a chance a year or so ago. To my amazement, I was hooked from the very beginning. The producers of the new version have totally rethought the entire series, and added a level of depth that is very comparable to today's world. The parallels to some of the hot topics in our world makes the show relatable - even if it is about spaceships, robots, and world annihilation.

I won't go into details about the show, but I will encourage you to give it a shot yourself. Try to think past any stereotype you may have of a "Sci-Fi" show, and watch the mini-series that started the show. I promise you will not be disappointed. Plus, how bad can it be if Dwight Schrute is a fan?
