Once a Geek...

I saw the trailer for the new Indiana Jones movie yesterday, and immediately started geeking out. I remember watching the original movies as a kid, and absolutely loving them! After watching the preview, I also started to wonder why movies today seem to be lack-luster in comparison. Why don't we make movies the way we used to? Now you are lucky if you get a plot at all in between all the high tech wizardry (I'm talking to you, Transformers!). Is the impression of the viewing audience by the entertainment industry so nominal that they don't think we would watch movies that have an actual plot? I think the success of movies like Juno proves that the American viewing audience wants to see movies that are as entertaining to think about as they are to watch. Listen up, Hollywood!

In the meantime, I will wait as impatiently as ever for my new Indiana Jones movie, which opens on May 22.
