Monday Monday, can't trust that day...
Two days in a row. Does this make it a habit yet? Well, it's Monday, and you know what that means? The start of another week. This was an especially brutal start to the work week, because I had a meeting at 8 am (who does that?). Today was fairly busy at work, which is good - helps the day go by faster, you know? I powered through the work day, and before I knew it, the day was over. This evening, I volunteered to help a colleague with a Networking event on campus. This colleague works in our Career Services office, and puts this event on once a term to help students who are about to graduate gain some skills practicing some techniques for interviews. Basically, I had to let students come up and introduce themselves to me. I wasn't sure what the event would be like, but I found myself having a good time. It was fun to see that I was really helping students gain confidence in their abilities to market themselves to potential employers. Sometimes in my job, I find that I am removed from student interactions, so it is helpful to get myself out there to volunteer at these types of events. It's also a nice feeling to show support for colleagues across the university. It's a good thing I'm such a giving person by nature. ;-)

Great way to help students! Can you also find ways to help students with their resumes? I've seen so many bad ones, that reading a good one would be a treat to an employer!
Keep up the great work!!
